From overeater anonymous to intuitive eating

So much good news and things to talk about …
For starters … I have been attending overeater anonymous groups. There’s some flyers from their meetings above.
And I’ve been incredibly inspired to see how they hold their meetings, what language they use and so forth.
So I asked myself “what if I take some elements overeater anonymous meetings and apply those elements to intuitive eating?”
So this weekend I did just that.
We read from the ‘bible’ of intuitive eating, which is the book Intuitive Eating by Elyse Resch and Evelyn Tribole.
I made sure to talk about the 10 steps of becoming an Intuitive Eater, which you can learn more about on the official intuitive eating website here.
But perhaps most importantly …
The people who showed up connected to the message in a powerful way and also gave me a great insight on how to really get life transformation for people!
I’ll announce that insight which I am soooo excited about soon!

Remember, before you take a compulsive bite …
You have a friend here (me!)
Don’t hesitate to reach out.
And if you do take a compulsive bite, don’t judge yourself! Notice how you feel. Notice what triggered the situation.
Notice and name the feelings that are arising. See if you can pause, feel the uncomfortable feelings for a moment, and within that mindful space – choose a different action before you compulsively eat.
And remember, don’t judge yourself for compulsively overeating. Judgment never helps! Learning about the root causes and addressing the root causes is the key!
