Learning to listen to your body can be tough.

The satisfaction you get with life when you become an intuitive eater and incorporate more of an intuitive aspect to your life. Like, the weight is just so inconsequential compared to this.

There can be so much confusion, so much noise, so much conflict.

Fortunately today in this conversation with Erika Salaman …

Erika shares her own story about feeling conflicted.

When Erika was first studying Nutrition in college, she thought that sugar was horrible.

She read about all the horrible things sugar does …

And this

intuitive eating success

So she stopped eating sugar. But is “cutting off” sugar really the way to learning to listen to your body?

Erika was convinced this was the best decision she made in her entire life.

She lost weight, felt better, and reported all the amazing benefits of a ‘successful’ diet.

(I say ‘successful’ because diets can appear to be successful in the short-term, but as we know, diets are nearly always terrible in the long-run)

However, everything changed when Erika went to an Intuitive Eating meeting.

She heard stories of people who had helped their clients overcome eating disorders …

And then she finally asked on person, “Do you eat sugar?”

Erika thought this person surely would say “No” …

So she was shell-shocked when the person said, “I eat a bowl of ice cream every night!”

This opened up Erika’s eyes to the truth of sugar. This was when Erika first discovered the haes principles.


She could finally face the fact that she would binges on sugar, binges that she wasn’t admitting to herself or to others …

This started a journey of balance, a journey of healing – to stop binge eating.

(this is what you should do too, if you find out you have an eating disorder – seek out help from a friend whose been there before)

Now years later, Erika helps people heal and walk the Intuitive Eating path.
