How To Get Rid Of Cravings?

These 5 steps will help free you from hunger cravings.

  1. Eliminate “good” vs “bad” food rules
  2. Mindfully Eat – make it simple
  3. Sugar cravings – make a list
  4. How much fiber are you getting?
  5. Go through food fear by unconditionally eating

She puts things into context and really drives these points home fairly well.

How To Get Rid Of Cravings in 5 Steps

This first step is all about realizing your body signals are incredibly important.

First – Step 1)

A critical step is understanding the unconscious moral judgments towards food that you learned growing up as a child.

Next – Step 2)

This part of the journey is all about bringing awareness to your patterns.

Step 3)

Just become aware of how much sugar you are taking in.

Be careful because the point is NOT to eliminate sugar.

The point is to become aware of how much sugar you are intaking, and to bring mindfulness around these eating habits.

You notice how your body feels during and after eating these foods.

Then, in the next step 4, you actually experiment with different foods. I suggest experimenting and playing around with foods that are high in fiber.

Be careful – you do not have to like these foods.

But if you notice how full they make you, how much energy they give you – in comparison to the sugary foods – you will be Emotionally motivated to change your eating habits instead of logically wanting to change your eating habits.

Logically trying to change your eating habits looks like calorie counting, food journaling, etc.

It’s Thinking, instead of Feeling. Now let’s do an exercise from the book

Yet, humans evolved over millions of years to Feel their food, not think about it.

So you have to get out of your logical mind and into your body.

Step 4) – Again many of these steps are simply increasing your awareness towards food.
