First of all, do not despair. Have hope. An Eating Disorder is NOT the end of the world.

The fact that you are reading this page means you care. Deep within you this mean you already have what it takes to heal.

Care. Love. Curiosity. Learning.

Another ingredient is connecting and learning from mentors. There are people who have BEATEN eating disorders. Gone. Poof. Vanished.

I have been fortunate to interview several of these women on my podcast over the past few weeks.

They have all had their stories and moments of despair around food, as well as redemption. So yes, it truly is possible. Remember, have hope.

If you can care and you can learn, and if you can be patient (like years of patience) you can heal and make your struggles the fuel of your redemption.

Karen R. Koenig is a wonderful resource, shining with eating disorder recovery wisdom!

Karen is a LCSW, MEd is a psychotherapist, popular blogger and an international, award-winning author of 7 books on eating, weight and body image.

Her next book, on self-talk and self-care, will be published in January 2021. Her expertise is in eating psychology which is the how and why of eating.

Meryl Hershey Beck, MA, M.Ed., knows about grief both personally and professionally. In her 30-year role as a licensed counselor, she often helped clients work through their grief.

And then in 2011, her 35-year old son fatally shot himself. By example of her own life, she shows others that a return to wholeness is possible. Meryl created SourceTapping®, a meridian therapy technique that helps ease pain – a tool she uses for herself and with bereaved clients.
